This September, the U.S. Navy plans to conduct a live-fire test at at White Sands Missile Range whereby a F-35 provide sensor data in order for a SM-6 anti-air missile to destroy its target.

The demonstration comes as the sailing branch attempts to expand its Naval Integrated Fire Control-Counter Air (NIFC-CA) architecture with more sensors and weapons.
