Reuters say during the height of the coup in Turkey, coupist-commandeered F-16s had locked on their radars on the business jet ferrying President Tayyip Erdogan to Istanbul.
Two government officials with knowledge of the matter confirmed the news to Reuters. The Gulfstream jet was protected by a pair of F-16s loyal to Erdogan. Why the coup-plotters did not shoot down the jet is still a mystery.
