CBC News managed to obtain documents from Canada’s Department of National Defence and the papers revealed the department’s intention to keep the CT-114 Tutor jet trainer flying till 2030.

A briefing note from the Royal Canadian Air Force said a robust life-expectancy extension study is being carried out to “validate” the option of using the Tutors beyond 2020 to ensure an “uninterrupted” capacity.
The study is expected to conclude by end of the year.
