Reuters reported that Vietnam has secretly shipped a set of Israeli-made EXTRA rocket launchers to its garrisions in the Spratly Islands. The weapon system is capable of targeting runways that China constructed in the recent years.

Diplomats and military officers told Reuters that Hanoi is hiding the rocket launchers from aerial surveillance and they are not currently armed with rockets. However, these launchers could be operational within two to three days if required.
