According to Flight Global, the U.S. Air Force is expected to issue a request for information (RFI) on Sept. 9 for a helicopter that will replace its aging UH-1Ns that are guarding its nuclear missile sites.

The service had previously wanted to sole-source 41 UH-60Ms to replace the 62 UH-1Ns. But it has now elected to open the competition to other manufacturers.
