Following media reports that Embraer might have paid bribes in order to secure the contract to supply three business jets for the Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEWACS) project, the Indian Ministry of Defense has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to initiate an investigation.

The deal is already under scrutiny by the U.S. Department of Justice and India has given Embraer 15-days to submit a report on the graft charges.
