Russia’s Borei-class ballistic missile submarine, Yuriy Dolgorukiy, test-fired two RSM-56 Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM) on Sept. 28 and one of the missile self-destruct in flight.

The other missile successfully reached its target at the Kura test range in Kamchatka.
The missile’s test program has been problematic since its inception in 2004. The last test conducted in November 2015 also ended in failure.
