The Philippine Air Force is hoping to acquire 36 FA-50PH fighter jets from KAI, a senior PAF officer told Jane’s.
The official said the procurement is needed “to meet a requirement specified in Flight Plan 2028 to “detect, intercept, and neutralise” any perceived threat in its exclusive economic zone (EEZ).”
The Pakistan Air Force lost a JF-17 on Sept. 27 when the jet went down after taking off from Masroor air base in Karachi.
