The Manila Standard claims that a source from the Foreign Affairs Department said the Philippine government will acquire two military helicopters from Russia.

Two types of helicopters are being considered, the Mi-17 or the Mi-24.
The same source added that Russia is willing to give deep discounts for the rotor-craft and offer extended payment schemes.
Officials from Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) have already brief Philippine government officers on the various financing schemes.
