The Chairman of India’s state-run Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) said permission is being sought from the Cabinet Committee for Security to buy six A330s from Airbus and convert them into early warning radar platforms.

S Christopher added that once the contract is signed, the DRDO can deliver the first aircraft in 84 months or 7 years.
