China says KJ-200 crew did nothing wrong during close encounter with U.S. P-3

China’s state-own Global Times says an anonymous government source told the daily that the crew of a KJ-200 had responded “legally and professionally” during a close encounter with a U.S. Navy P-3 over South China Sea last week.

“We hope that the U.S. could take the bilateral military relations into consideration and adopt practical measures to eliminate the root cause of air and sea mishaps between the two countries,” the defense ministry official was quoted as saying.
