The Wichita Eagle was told by Textron Aviation that its Scorpion jet will not be competing in the U.S. Air Force’s T-X competition and instead the company plans to focus its attention on the potential OA-X program.
“We look forward to receiving additional information on the OA-X program as the USAF finalizes the requirements,” the company said.
OA-X is an ideal being floated by Air Combat Command to buy a low-cost off-the-shelf attack aircraft to supplement the A-10.
