The Yomiuri Shimbun reports that multiple sources are saying that U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration will approve the sale of new fighter aircraft to Taiwan as early as summer this year.

The decision will be made after Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping later this month.
Although its possible that the Lockheed Martin F-35 could be sold to Taiwan, the island might not be able to afford buying the stealh fighter and could buy more F-16s intead.
