Aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) will be heading out to sea to start its first sea trial this week, said Vice Adm. Tom Moore.

The commander of U.S. Naval Systems Command added that the service could take delivery of the ship in late April or early May.
If things go according to plans, the ship could be commissioned this Summer.
