RAND has published a paper on Chinese investment in U.S. aviation sector to date and concluded that there are no immediate concerns due to effective U.S. export and foreign investment regulations.

However, the think tank suggests continue monitoring the effectiveness of U.S. export controls and foreign investment regulation to prevent the transfer of engine or avionics technology.
RAND also highlighted the spillover effect on China’s push to expand its civil aviation sector. It will provide the PLA with a larger talent pool and offer greater supply chain options.
