One of the measures taken by the U.S. Navy to combat the physiological episodes on the F/A-18s and EA-18Gs is to issue the aircrew a Garmin Fenix 3 watch.

The service confirmed that by August, all the fleet squadrons will get the watch which can sound an alarm when there is a change in cabin altitude. It was found that the aircraft’s environmental control system is causing most of the physical episodes on the Boeing fighter.
But engineers at NAVAIR are not full on board with the idea as they argued that the watch has yet to tested for accuracy for this type of application.
