The U.S. Department of Defense is planning to let Vice Adm. John Aquilino lead the Navy’s 5th Fleet. If confirmed, Aquilino would also assume command of Naval Forces Central Command.

According to his bio on the navy website, Aquilino has flown the F-14 A/B Tomcat and the F/A-18 C/E/F. He commanded VF-11 as well.
