The U.S. Navy has issued a new draft request for proposals for its MQ-25A Stingray unmanned aerial refueling tanker and one of its two key performance parameters (KPP) is to do mission tanking.
The draft, published on Jul. 19, made no mention on the unmanned platform’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
Therefore, the four competitors – Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and General Atomics – will only have to prove that their aircraft can take-off and land back on a carrier and do mission tanking.
