The current investigation into corruption at Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) has been seen by many in South Korea as a probe into defense programs initiated under former President Park Geun-hye.
The previous administration had approved the purchase of 40 Lockheed Martin F-35 fighters and kick off the indigenous KF-X fighter program to be develop by KAI.
