The North Carolina Air National Guard’s (NCANG) 156th Airlift Squadron flew its final 8-ship C-130 formation on Aug. 5.

The max flight saw the tactical air transports flying out to the 263rd Communications Squadron in Stanly County and attempt simulated airdrops with sand bags.
The unit is transitioning to the C-17 and the conversion will start this year.
