The reentry is expected to occur between now and April 2018. The exact location is undetermined as the Chinese has lost control of the space station last year and therefore cannot control its descent.
Experts say the 8.5-ton laboratory will break up during its fiery descent but up to 100kg of debris could land on the surface.
