The Swiss government has found itself in an embarrassing situation after it was revealed that officials had went to an Israeli air base in Goland Heights to evaluate the Hermes 900 UAV. Switzerland does not recognize the Goland Heights as Israeli territory.

The visits took place on three occasions in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Each time lasting several days. The incident was discovered after an internal review this year.
The Goland Heights was seized from Syria following a war in 1967.
