It was announced on the last day of the Dubai airshow that the United Arab Emirates Air Force & Air Defence has placed an order for five Airbus C295 medium transport aircraft.

Airbus says the UAE Air Force will use the C295 to replace existing CN235s. Deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of 2018.
