Chief-of-staff of the Republic of China Air Force, Gen. Cheng RongFeng, told legislators today that the service spoke to Dassault in June this year regarding the upgrade of its Mirage 2000-5 fleet.

Cheng said the French side did not reply initially and has now gotten back with queries regarding the scope of the upgrade and number of aircraft involved.
The Legislative Yuan’s Defense and Foreign Relations Committee then decided to freeze the funding that was allocated for the upgrade program until the service submits a report on the progress.
