USS Carl Vinson will be first carrier to visit Vietnam since end of hostilities

USS Carl Vinson is scheduled to make a port call in Da Nang, Vietnam this March, officials from both countries announced during a two-day visit to Hanoi by U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.

This is the first time an American aircraft carrier will make a port call in the South East Asian nation following the end of the Vietnam War in the 1970s.
