The Autonomous Aerial Cargo/Utility System (AACUS) being developed by the U.S. Office of Naval Research has been selected as one of its finalists for the 2017 Robert J. Collier Trophy.
The AACUS turns any rotorcraft into an autonomous resupply vehicle using a package of sensors and software. Using a tablet, a Marine can call up vital supplies such as food and ammunition while keep pilots and crews out of harm’s way.
