South Korea’s opposition party has accused North Korea of stealing the designs of the Hyunmoo-2 ballistic missile. During a military parade on Feb. 8 in Pyongyang, North Korea unveiled a short-range ballistic missile similar to the South’s Hyunmoo-2.
Chung Jin-suk of the main opposition Liberty Korea Party said North Korea might have hacked into computer systems in the South and stole the blueprints for the ballistic missile.
Defense Minister Song Young-moo dismissed the suggestion during his meeting with Chung. Experts are also divided on the issue as some features found on the Hyunmoo-2 can be seen on North’s version as well.
