U.S. withdrawing Patriot units from three countries in Middle East

An anonymous U.S. official told AFP that the Pentagon will be withdrawing Patriot firing units from Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain.

A total of four units will be withdrawn “in the next month or two.” They will be modernized.

“This is part of a rebalance away from the Middle East, and that decision was made long before the current back and forth with Iran,” the official said.
