The U.S. Army has given Raytheon a $21 million contract to develop a new propulsion system for the BGM-71 TOW (“Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided”) anti-tank missile.

A company executive was quoted in the press release as saying that the new “propulsion system will increase range and deliver enhanced protection for ground troops while providing them with more capability.”
