Up Media says the Republic of China Air Force (RoCAF) has decided to slow down the acceptance of the indigenous Wan Chien cruise missile after two recent test-firings reveal production issues with the weapon.

During the first test, the missile’s powerplant failed to light up at high altitude, the engine was started after the missile had descended to lower altitudes. A second test was then scheduled and this time, the engine failed to start up again. To make matters worse, the wings failed to deploy fully.
The service plans to conduct further test firings next year after the cause have been determined.
