India’s test of an anti-satellite weapon (ASAT) on Mar. 27 has sent 24 pieces of debris into an orbit that can threaten the International Space Station (ISS).
This was revealed by NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine during a town hall meeting with the administration’s employees.
“That is a terrible, terrible thing to create an event that sends debris at an apogee that goes above the International Space Station.”
“That kind of activity is not compatible with the future of human spaceflight,” Bridenstine added.
