VMFA-314 will be the second F-35C squadron to deploy at sea

The U.S. Marine Corps is on schedule to deploy a F-35C squadron aboard an aircraft carrier and will accelerate the purchase of F-35Cs in order to ensure that units earmarked to receive the carrier-borne variant meet their planned transition and deployment deadlines.

Pentagon in talks to send another aircraft carrier to Vietnam

The U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs told a think tank recently that the Pentagon is in talks with Vietnam to send an aircraft carrier to the country this year.

Greece, Romania, Spain and Poland are potential new operators of the F-35

Director, Joint Strike Fighter Program, Vice Admiral Mathias W. “Mat” Winter, told U.S. lawmakers that “future potential Foreign Military Sales customers (for the F-35) include Singapore, Greece, Romania, Spain and Poland.”
