Despite loss of F-35A, Japan assures U.S. it will continue to buy the jet

Takeshi Iwaya, Japan’s Minister of Defense, has assured acting U.S. Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan that Tokyo will continue to buy more F-35s despite the crash of a F-35A recently.

RAND recommends that Baltics SOF, National Guard units expand inventory of anti-armor and anti-air systems

A report by RAND on deterring Russian aggression in the Baltic States suggests that the special operation forces (SOF) and national guard units of the three countries should have more man-portable anti-armor and anti-air systems.

India’s Navy chief says sea trials for INS Vikrant to commence this year

India’s 23rd Chief of the Naval Staff, Adm. Sunil Lanba, disclosed on Apr. 20 that country’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, will be delivered in 2021.

India reportedly made “emergency” purchase of 240 Spike missiles
