A trove of Cabinet papers published by the New Zealand Ministry of Defense suggests that Singapore could still deploy F-15SG fighters to Ohakea for short-term deployments.

The documents also show that noise concerns to residents scuttled the deal to permanently base the Boeing fighters in New Zealand.
“Acoustics experts concluded that at least 75% of Sanson properties, as well as the local school, would require acoustic insulation, although this would not fully eliminate noise impacts,” one of the reports stated.
New Zealand also counter propose to build a new base to house the F-15SGs. However the document was redacted on the outcome.
