Canada poised to buy Mark 54 torpedo conversion kits

Canada is all set to buy 425 Mark 54 lightweight torpedo conversion kits for its existing Mark 46 torpedo inventory.

The 15-day notification period for the U.S. Congress to block the deal has lapsed, clearing the way for the sale.

Besides the Halifax-class warships, the torpedo will be fitted to the CP-140 and the CH-148.
