A senior analyst from Taiwan’s Institute of National Defense and Security Research has proposed that the new F-16C/D Block 70s being purchased be deployed at Chih Hang Air Force Base in Taitung.
Su Tzu-yun says the bases on the west coast are at capacity. The central mountain range would shield the fighters from attack by S-300 and S-400 air defense systems from across the Taiwan Strait.
