South Korea will start the mass production of the Haegung anti-missile system and $627 million will be earmarked for the production, which runs till 2036.
The system, which is also known as K-SAAM, has a range of 20 km and uses a dual active-radar and infrared sensor.
Seoul developed it to replace the RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile.
