The F-35 can now call for artillery support to neutralize anti-air threats

A U.S. Air Force F-35A recently radioed an artillery unit assigned to the 1st Armored Division for fire support to neutralize an anti-air threat for the first time.

The exercise took place in New Mexico.

Using eight networks, the pilot and soldiers were trying to develop the techniques, tactics and procedures for future exercises.
