Operation Heavy Tea, the top secret mission into China to monitor its nuclear weapons program

Operation Heavy Tea was a top secret mission flown by the 34th Squadron of the Republic of China Air Force into China on May 17, 1969.

The objective was to drop sensor pods near China’s nuclear test site to monitor their weapons program.

The Taiwanese crew were trained secretly at Groom Lake in 1968 to prepare them for this mission.
