Flight Test Engineers at Edwards Air Force Base was able to monitor flight testing of the Boeing T-7A real time for the first time using the Distributed Test Operations (DTO) on Apr. 30.

The system was initially designed such that pilots and engineers from Edwards don’t have to travel to St. Louis to participate in test activities, saving time. This proves to be useful during the current COVID-19 pandemic as well.
Lt. Col. Scott S. Fann, commander, 416th Flight Test Squadron, said the DTO improves test productivity as well.
