The U.S. Army is preparing to deploy its latest variant of the AH-64E attack helicopter to the 4th Aerial Reconnaissance Battalion (Attack), 2nd Aviation Regiment at Camp Humphreys, South Korea.

However, the unit will have to wait for its turn as the 1-229th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (the Tigersharks) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Washington will be the first to receive the new rotorcraft in October.
To facilitate the transition, the New Equipment Training Team (NETT) flew four upgraded AH-64E V6 to JBLM and trained 1-229th ARB’s first 10 aviators to fley the new attack helicopter.
The AH-64E features a modernized day side assembly (MDSA), improved Cognitive Decision Aid System, software upgrades, and an upgraded mission processor.
