The Israeli Air Force’s 117th Squadron flew its F-16C/D fighters for the final time on Oct. 1 before the unit is disestablished.
The unit, also known as “First Jet’, was established in 1953 at Ramat David AFB and has since participated in all of Israel’s wars.
It will be shut down as part of the IAF’s plans to optimize and prepare for future challenges.
