Rheinmetall will install a laser source demonstrator on Germany Navy frigate Sachsen for a year-long trial.

This contract is to help develop a key future laser weapon system component.
Rheinmetall says the laser demonstrator is based on spectral coupling technology. It says that spectral coupling is less complex, highly modular and features growth potential in the 100 kW performance class.
