USAF appeals against ban on urban training in Idaho

The U.S. Air Force has appeal to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals against a ruling that prevents the service from conducting urban training using F-15E and F-15SG jets over cities in Idaho.

Those training flights involve the use of two to four F-15E and F-15SG aircrews plus plain-clothed soldiers on the ground to simulate urban combat.

A magistrate had ruled that the Air Force violated environmental laws by not analyzing properly how noise from the flights could affect humans or wildlife.
