China sent twenty of its military aircraft into Taiwan’s ADIZ on Mar. 26 after the United States and Taiwan signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Coast Guard Working Group (CGWG) in Washington D.C. a day earlier.
The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) says the new forum will improve communications, build cooperation, and share information between the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and Taiwan Coast Guard.
Data from Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense shows J-10s, J-16s, H-6K bombers and Y-8 aircraft making various incursions into the zone. The bombers and Y-8s ventured as far as the south east corner of Taiwan.
