Castle Air Museum needs help to transport 10 war birds from Hawaii

The former Naval Air Museum Barbers Point at Kalaeloa Airport closed in late 2019 and now the Castle Air Museum has been given permission by the National Naval Aviation Museum to take over 10 war birds in the former’s collection.

In California, a trucking company has offered to help transport the aircraft while a volunteer crew from Hawaiian Airlines will help dismantle the aircraft. But the biggest hurdle now is finding a way to cross the Pacific Ocean from Hawaii to California.

The museum is hoping for the air force or navy to step in to provide the heavy lifting needed. If not, any commercial shipping company willing to help is welcomed too.
