South Korea wants to buy 4 more Phalanx CIWS

The U.S. Senate foreign relations committee has been notified on a potential sale of four more Phalanx Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) Block 1B Baseline 2 (IB2) systems to South Korea.

PHILIPPINE SEA (Nov. 16, 2021) The forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) fires its Phalanx Close-In Weapons System. America, lead ship of the America Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
