The French Ministry of Defense has revealed that three French Air Force Mirage 2000-5 fighters provided air cover to two American warships while they transit Bab al-Mandab Strait on Apr. 23.
Bab al-Mandab Strait is between Yemen, and Djibouti and Eritrea. The American warships are USS Mount Whitney and USS Gonzalez.
The French fighters were supported by a French KC-135 tanker.
