Korean Air said in its press release that it scored the highest points in the first stage bidding process for the “stealth UAV squadron development.”
The ADD started basic design work for the UAV in November 2021 and will work with Korean Air to mature the design. Korean Air will develop a manned-unmanned teaming system whereby one manned aircraft will control up to four unmanned aircraft.
A concept image from Korean Air shows the UAV in similar appearance with the Boeing loyal wingman, except the air intake is situated on top of the UAV.
