169th Fighter Wing participates in exercise Relampago VII Posted on September 11, 2022 by alert5 Six F-16s from South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing is in Colombia for exercise Relampago VII. A U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet from the South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing is parked on the ramp with Colombian Air Force KFIR fighter jets. Both countries are participating in Relampago VII, an exercise in Barranquilla, Colombia, Sept. 5, 2022. The purpose of this exercise is to provide the Colombian Air Force with requested realistic interoperability training as allied countries, under NATO standards. The U.S. is providing provide eight F-16s and two KC-135s to support this training. South Carolina is Colombia’s State Partner in the State Partnership Program.
